Silva is a Swedish company that designs, develops, and sells compasses, headlamps, and outdoor products for sports, adventure, and professional use. They have been operating since 1933, when Silva's founders invented the world's first liquid-filled compass.

When should you decide to switch from one platform to another? For Silva, the decision could not be delayed any longer. Their WooCommerce shop was frequently down, had slow response times, and couldn't keep up with new developments.

Over the years, Silva worked on their WooCommerce shop. Numerous developers were involved, and too many plug-ins and applications competed against each other. Time and again, operations were halted just to make the webshop functional.

More branding than shopping

The target was 70 percent branding / 30 percent webshop. The new shop was intended to be an aesthetic representation of Silva, not rivaling the numerous retailers. The goal was to foster brand awareness and speak to brand aficionados, not the bargain-seeking segment. Hence, a Premium theme shop was created where aesthetics took precedence – it accommodates large imagery, films, and a captivating ambiance. The shop is offered in multiple language versions and corresponding currencies.

Customer care is also prioritized

We also assisted Silva in getting a good start with Klaviyo and Gorgias, so the customer service component now operates at the highest level. We don't stop at the integration itself, but always ensure to educate the eCommerce team, so they are as well-prepared as possible for the daily digitization of the entire customer journey.
