We were blown away! Never before in our history have we faced such a large number of content pages. Ortofon has produced an almost endless material over many, many years and today functions as a second Wikipedia. Finding and purchasing the perfect cartridge for your record player is not necessarily an easy task. The old system, which was inflexible and costly, made it even more cumbersome. With Shopify, we have made Ortofon's user journey easy and comprehensible, and at the same time, we have streamlined the whole setup behind the webshop itself.

Custom design on standard foundation

Ortofon is a name that resonates. With over 1000 pages of content, their site serves as a veritable reference guide, with decades of customer following. Proceeding cautiously was pivotal, as structural changes were minimal. Ortofon arrived with a completed design plan, and we constructed a custom-designed webshop on a standard theme accordingly.

The newly implemented store includes full integration with Dynamics. Consequently, a product set up in Shopify automatically creates a corresponding entry in Dynamics, and when an order is placed, it flows into the accounting system, continues to Pick, Pack & Ship where packing slips are generated, and updates once shipped. Standard integration with UPS also facilitates shipping label printing. Ortofon enjoys benefits such as:

We have custom-built a 'Cartridge Selector', which makes it easy for the customer to find exactly the cartridge that fits their specific turntable. This ensures a great user journey, the customer feels seen and inspired – and it eases the workload for customer service.

Cartridges are truly a niche product, and many want to see and experience them in physical stores before making a purchase. With 'Find Dealer' on each product page, we meet this need.

Accessible user journey for everyone

When visitors click around the webshop, there is often a need to find more information, and as the pages are very long, we have created stationary submenus on all product pages. This prevents the user from having to scroll up and down – all information is right at their fingertips, and the experience is pleasant and accessible. 

Customer service also has the complete overview. We have integrated Gorgias, which consolidates all correspondence into one window. Whether customers respond to emails or reach out via social media, each staff member has an overview of the entire customer's history and does not need to jump from platform to platform to find the requested answers. At the same time, Gorgias ensures that no inquiries are overlooked. Ortofon uses Shopify Email for their marketing automations.
